Once sheltered in silvery glow, a symbol of deep faith,
the cross once rested quietly in its strength.
But times change, and idols yield,
making space for the new in ceaseless flow.

Melted, reshaped, the metal now liquefied,
pours into new forms, a sign of these times.
From sacred symbol, a pill is cast,
engraved with “XANAX” on matte, gleaming surface.

Within it lies the faith in science,
the hope for healing, encased in cold metal.
But what remains when the sacred fades,
and faith is lost to medicine’s embrace?

So we stand and ask, in the face of transformation,
what remains sacred in this new world.
The idols we now worship are the gods that consume us,
embodied in the things that once gave us hope.

Now revered is the new, in the glow of pills,
a shift in belief, subtle and unseen.
In this era, where science ascends as religion,
we ask: Are we redeemed or bound more deeply?
